Non-Alcohol Teen Night on Thursday, featuring all-you-can ride carnival rides for just $16.00. Saturday watch the parade on Cottage Grove Road, then head down to Firemen's Park for some more carnival rides, American Legion and Home Talent baseball, and Fire Department water fights. Sunday come down for a pancake breakfast, served by the Cottage Grove Lions Club, and stay for the Giant Horse Pull. Later in the day there will be a Kid's pedal tractor pull, and another chance for all-you-can ride armbands. Visit

There are games and activities for the kids from 11:00 am to 5 pm all around Cannery Square Plaza including a rock climbing wall, dunk tank, caricature artist, bouncy castle and more.

Summer Reading Programs!


Here are some great summer reading reward programs for kids!

Sun Prairie Public Library:
Program is from June 9 to August 7
Splashtastic Reading Booklet (Approx. 2 years old & up)
Register for the Summer Reading Program and pick up a Reading Booklet to help you keep track of your summer reading.
As you fill in the pages, bring your Reading Booklet back to the library to get stamped and receive a prize for each section you complete!
Complete the whole booklet to earn all the prizes and a pass to the pool party in August!

Teen Reading Raffle (Entering Grades 7—12)
Enter the Reading Raffle by filling out a special
ticket for each book you read during the Summer Library Program.
Drop off the ticket in the raffle box at the library.
Drawing will be held after all Summer Library Programs have ended.
Everyone will win a prize!

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Club:
Kids in grades 1-6 can receive a free book from Barnes & Noble by reading 8 books over the summer.
They will need to fill out a Summer Reading Journal and bring the journal to a B&N location when they are finished.
They will then receive a coupon for a free book.

Borders Double Dog Dare You Reading program:
Kids 12 and under can join the Borders Double Dog Dare You Reading program.
They will earn a free book when they read 10 books, fill out the form and bring it in to any Borders, Waldenbooks, or Borders express store by August 26, 2010.

Half Price Books Feed Your Brain Program:
Children 14 and under can earn a free $3 gift card to Half Price Books each week they read (or are read to) for 15 minutes at least five days.
You can easily find books for less than $3 in their clearance section which will result in a free book per child each week!

Walking Tour: Token Creek Cemetery

Location: Token Creek Cemetery 6394 Portage Road
(at the parking lot of the conservancy)

Description:
George Spaulding settled in Token Creek seven years before Wisconsin became a state. Token Creek was an old military road that went from Chicago to Fort Winnebago which made it a busy village. This tour will include information on the grist mill and legends explaining the naming of Token Creek and why the post office was named only Token. Family names associated with Token Creek cemetary are Spaulding, Combs, Douglas, Rasdall, and Lawrence. A memorial at the cemetary list the veterans from the War 1812, plus six Civil War veterans and one WWI Veteran
